God is bringing the nations to North America. The Great Commission opportunities for the local church are unprecedented. The Harvest is plentiful, but more spiritual leaders are needed. Is God calling you to respond to these challenges?
The world is becoming more diverse and urban all the time. If we are going to win a lost and dying world with the claims of Christ, we need to develop more effective ways of ministering to people in America’s overflowing cities. Clarkston is a good place to begin.
THE CBI VISION:
One of the greatest needs in the Church today is for trained spiritual leaders. There is an even greater need for trained leaders to minister in the ethnic communities in Clarkston or any culturally diverse area.
During the spring of 2016, a group of pastors and Christian leaders agreed to develop a “world class hands-on internship program” by beginning Clarkston Bible Institute (CBI) to provide Bible training and mentoring in an ethnically diverse environment for the purpose of multiplying spiritual leaders.
Clarkston Bible Institute is a one-year journey that is designed to provide Biblical, theological, and practical training for believers called to serve in Clarkston and the many diverse communities in North America. The experience is perfect for future pastors, church planters, worship leaders, youth workers, and NGO leaders. Applicants must be at least 18, speak basic English, and agree with our Statement of Faith.
The journey takes place in Clarkston, Georgia. Clarkston is a small community in northeast Atlanta. It is unique in that it is considered by The New York Times to be “the most diverse square mile in America.” Clarkston offers a unique environment for ministering to the lives of internationals from around the world.
Over 60 languages are spoken in this unique community and over 90 distinct ethnic groups have been identified by local city leaders. Nearly, 2,500 new refugees are resettled into Clarkston each year.
Clarkston is the best place in the Southeast to be immersed in multi-cultural ministry.
Clarkston Bible Institute is hosted at Clarkston International Bible Church (CIBC). The Biblical and theological training is provided by the Bible Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP). The practical internship is facilitated by CIBC, Celebration Fellowship, Friends of Refugees, World Relief, Proskeneo, and other local ministries. A typical week will involve 12 hours of classroom training and 20 hours of hands-on ministry experience.
Participants are mentored by experienced ministry leaders who prayerfully make a positive contribution to the work of God in Clarkston.
